Beginner project
So you want to start somewhere but not quite sure where? I recommend getting a feel for how leather works and moves with making a leather magic braid bracelet. This project will give you something simple to work on but it turns out super cool. I love this project I wear my own bracelet whenever I get the chance.
Start the Cut
You are going to measure your wrist to get the width and then add an about two inches to make it fit nicely. You then are going to cut a piece of leather that matches your measurements in length and about 2-3 centimeters in width. Your leather can be swede or normal carving leather it doesn’t make a difference. It is up to you if you want to stylize the ends. Personally I just keep my a straight line but you can cut them to have a round edge.
Now that you have your leather you are going to cut three equally sized slits into your leather with a leather knife or an exacto knife. As you briad you want something to hold down one side, I taped mine to the edge of the counter. Now you are going to start braiding. Sounds simple enough but there are a few tricks to keep it from getting tangled since there is no open end.
Braiding the Magic

Step two
Step Three
Step Four
Step Five
The important thing when braiding is counting. You are going to start with the right side and bring it over the center. Then make two more crossover so there are three in total. Then you will flip the bottom through the empty space. You will do three more and flip the bottom again. At this point the bottom should be untangled. Those first six steps are in the top five images. Mine was long enough that I had to do two more sets of three to get it tight. I finished my bracelet in the images below.

Finishing Touches
To finish it off I wiggled the bracelet around so the strands were spread across evenly, then I punched two holes in the ends and added a snap. If you would like to personalize it a little more you can add rivets for jewels. It will be a little stiff for a bit but as it wears in it will flatten out. You just made a magic braid bracelet out of leather.
